Picking gifts for the bridesmaids seems easy enough, anything pink will do but picking groomsmen’s gift is another matter.

There are creative groomsmen gift ideas to consider like a pub sign or something ordinary like a pen, but anything given from the heart, especially an unexpected one is sure to be received with gratitude. After all these are your friends and they will surely know where you stand where wedding budget is concerned. A unique groomsmen gift idea need not be expensive; it can be unique if it is specifically picked for the person like a baseball bat for a baseball aficionado, a golf club for a golfing buddy or a simple personalized beer mug for a drinking buddy.

There are some groomsmen gift ideas that have stood the test of time, some say too much that getting them seems paramount to the joy of receiving a new pair of socks. Some of these are the flask and the money clip. The flask is seems to be the all-time favourite groomsmen’s gift that many have a couple of flasks hidden at home. And taking a swig of liquor these days seems to be inappropriate and uncouth. A money clip seems a good idea especially if is engraved but some guys are simply attached to their wallets so most likely, those money clips will join the rest of the flasks in the drawer. A gift check seems too impersonal and just shows that you’ve thought of giving out gifts at the last minute. Giving your groomsmen a candle is also a low, might as well give them something pink and girly.

There are groomsmen gift ideas that have stood the test of time. Giving them a pen seems too ordinary but a beautiful pen will be used by anyone and a fountain pen will definitely look classy and will surely be treasured. Giving out umbrellas will raise some eyebrows but for sure, those groomsmen gifts will the first thing they will look for in a rainy day. Giving out pocket knives is also a popular gift idea just make sure your grooms men will not be flying out after the wedding otherwise it will only be confiscated at the airport.

So what is the best time for giving out your groomsmen gifts? The rehearsal seems to be the best time to give out gifts, that way everyone is still relaxed as compared to the day of the wedding where everyone is busy especially the bride and groom. The bride and groom can thank their friends and families as well as friends and hand out gifts personally during the rehearsal dinner. Gifts can also be given during the bachelors party but when everyone is crawling out after the event, most likely than not, the gifts will be left behind.

Whatever you pick out as groomsmen’s gifts, these will surely be appreciated. Friends after all do not expect payment for their services at your wedding but an unexpected gift is definitely a welcome surprise.
